middle school book report: nightb-word // Amna Azhar
Mrs. Holly, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee don’t complain to mom about me reading this book but it is really good and you will agree once you read it too. It is called Nightb-word. I don’t know if I can write that word (I know I can’t say it but I don’t know about writting). It is a very weird book and I was very weirded out by it.
If I am being honest (which I mostly am), I didnt understand it. I am not sure if I can give spoilers here or not (I dont know about the rules of writting as you can see) but the woman LITERALLY turns into a b-word. B-word as in a female dog but also the bad meaning of b-word as in mean cuz she KILLS her cat.
I would argue her husband was the real b-word tho. The woman had to do everything on her own like cleaning, making meals, killing her cat and taking care of her son. She had to give up painting paintings proffesionally too. I would turn into a b-word too if I was her. I would drown my husband in a pool if he acted like that. Also her friends were soooooooooooooo borring and judgemental like why would you judge your friend, that is not what friends do. Reminded me of Petra. I still don’t know what the writer was doing with the ending like she LITERALLY turned into a dog.
The themes (besides dog and cat) were being tired and being a mom which seemed to be the same thing. The mom was really tired all the time like she couldn’t even take a shower (GROSS!!!). Reading this book, made me understand my mom a lot (she stinks too sometimes and is also angry at dad). The lady’s baby also cried a lot in the book like it just kept on going and going. Reading it made me feel like I was a tired mom which was weird but also honestly really good too because that means the writer did a good job. The lady in the book didn’t knew how to be a mom too like she couldn’t found the manual for it. So she was really confused like I was with the book. Then she sees dogs and she becomes dog.
When I finished this book, I hugged my cat extra tight.
Please don’t tell my mom I stole her book while she was in the washroom. She had a stomach bug so she took a reallyyyyyyyy long time and it was a perfect oppurtunity. I felt like james bond who looks like dad. Please don’t rat me out, you are my fav teacher ever. This book meant a lot to my mom cuz her friend gave it to her for her birthday so I put it back and I didnt even dirty it. My mom is kind of a weirdo about dirt and stuff. (I skipped all the dirty parts in the book, I promise).
Thank you.
(FUN FACT: IF YOU EXCLUDE THIS PART IN THE BRACKETS, MY BOOK REPORT IS EXACTLY 500 WORDS).
